TBH it feels like a weak argument. I’m skeptical of the value of big AI tech companies, but I don’t think she clearly makes a connection to calling them “empires”. The east India company was literally sending in the military to take land from other parts of the world. Yeah these tech companies are exploitative and global - but that’s not new. That’s been happening since at least the 80s with all major US corporations. I’m not seeing the direct link.
