I know enough about how AI works, it categorically does not save the data, that is not a question of legality, it is a fact about the tech used for it. But it is not stored in the same way our recollections of a book are not stored, sometimes we can cite something verbatim, sometimes it is harder, so here we enter something that is about legality, the data can be biased, and if you want it to be able to recollect some data better than others the best way to do it is showing it more times, so, did they biased the tech knowingly? Because if they can get a verbatim article there is likely some bias in the data, it can also be that the attention system made an emphasis on it over others, this is something that can be found out by reviewing the dataset they use.
