AI could easily destroy human civilisation. If AI ever exceeds the abilities of the brightest humans it's game over. Currently AI is demotivating most ordinary people: why study when the machine can answer for you, this will cause people to get dumber over time and this will make the 'intelligent' gap between machines, and humans ever wider then at some point AI will become the master and us it's slaves. People seem to like this outcome but I just worry.
We are just numbers in this system and if AI sees us as a threat it could just erase us from the system, or worse.
