When I went to secondary school we had plenty of practical education as well as academic, such as Textiles, Home Ec, Social Sciences, Life Skills, visits from creatives and medics, as well as the normal maths, IT, and English etc.
My grandfather showed me how to cook, sew, etc as well early on, and I believe all these practical skills have been so useful during my life, and to help others. When I went to university, the students couldn't cook, even do boiled eggs, which was an eye opener.
Practical skills and life skills are so important, and whilst I'm not so sure about the AI focus of this school, I think the other elements are sensible.
I did have a lot of homework though, and tbh I never minded doing it, enjoyed it sometimes, but it could encroach upon other activities like my performing work.
