I agree with how you feel in so many ways. This AI for art is borrowing from the artists of the past, stealing from the artists of the now and cheating artists of the future. It’s ridiculous that art content isn’t viewed as belonging to the creator who made it..? I have been grappling with the idea of not posting my art on any social media platforms because it is becoming apparent that one of their main purpose is the data collection that is freely being contributed by the public. The disclaimer of if you post it here, the posted material belongs to us, (the media platform). I also have an art shop/gallery on line so is that being stolen from also? I find it ironic that the AI prompter person has no problem with stealing your art and style to replicate your work but considers the texting prompt they fashioned to be sacred and confidential so that other AI users can’t copy their prompt stream or whatever they call it… Also this was a quote from an AI ‘art’ creator I found from the New York Times article when they covered a story on AI art: “This isn’t going to stop,” …. “Art is dead, dude. It’s over. A.I. won. Humans lost.” If that’s the case…who are you going to steal from?
