Schools and universities are the best places to learn how to use AI ethically, appropriately, and prudently. Our homes have become the cradles of digital orphanhood (Mimberg, 2025). Our young people are driven more by external influences and poor AI practices. The real harm is not AI itself. It's the way we implement it without human trust, context, or guidance. Our role as educators is to guide students to harness the power of AI as a tool for deep connections, not as shortcuts to superficial answers. Algorithmic technology was created to streamline access to information, increase productivity levels, and expand our cognitive capabilities. Therefore, they cannot be considered teaching and learning tools. We should not further empower AI because the harm it causes to cognitive development has been proven. What educators do best should not be automated. If we continue as we are, educators will become mere supervisors of our students' cognitive development.
