I just can't see any positive outcome from this. If AI succeeds, we're fucked from all sides. Work is already hard as hell to find as is even in retail cause they don't wanna pay more workers YET at the same time leave the places heavily understaffed. Not to mention, all it'd take is one good natural disaster or a power outage and then whatever IS AI powered can't work until the issues are resolved. I also wanna drop in my own two cents on the AI art thing, as an artist. AI being involved in art won't last. It literally can't as it'll run into the same issue that us human creators have run into. Oversaturation. Art isn't a necessity, it's a luxury. As is, many folks prefer to pay as little as possible for it and just don't take the trade seriously. Which adds to it. HOWEVER, with AI spitting out "pretty pictures", the AI "artists" that are competing with each other for a profit are gonna run into the same stigma too. But worse as...well, at least these people would be legit valid in their criticism. And chances are would just use AI to make their own crap. Which means the AI "artists" are not only competing with each other but also competing against the machine due to it making "Art accessible for everyone", as they so put it. So there'd be plenty of "supply" but no more demand. Cause who's gonna pay'em when they can literally create the prompt themselves and get the same outcome? Their edge is also their folly. It'd be kinda funny to watch in real-time if it weren't so depressing.
