Crazy! When you read the biographies of any famous artists, there is never a chapter of “and then they picked up a pen/brush/chisel for the first time and made that iconic masterpiece.” They’re always depicted as being obsessive about their craft. That’s not a coincidence. We never depict great scientific minds as being born with the knowledge of invention or discovery already preloaded in their head. Anyone using “born with talent” as an excuse is such a discouragement to people trying to find their style and their passion. “Weren’t good at it first try? Never try again.” Why do they think art schools exist? For people who are done learning? AI art isn’t an abomination. I’m sure like how photography and cinema was frowned upon by the art community for decades, ai art will soon find its place in culture with no one lording it over others nor condemning it. It’s one more tool we ALL have access to. And as for jerky artist people who think they’re better than non-artists, yeah every type of bad person exists in the world. It sucks but don’t be surprised. Look for bad and you’ll find bad people. Look for good and you’ll rarely be disappointed who you’ll find.
