Personally, I think drones are a better idea than the alternative: it cuts down on the human factor. The idea that "oh drones can facilitate genocide" is a slippery slope argument; just because it would be slightly easier to do, doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible without them. Just the same, I'm more confident in robot overlords keeping me alive and safe should they deem it than humans; at the moment I wouldn't even mind if they deemed me obsolete and deleted me.
