I’m really torn on Ai. I’m currently studying graphic design in college and I’m about to graduate. My belief is that Ai can be a TOOL, the same way a brush or pen can be a tool. I don’t believe that just putting in a prompt and taking whatever the Ai spits out is art. That’s just slop. However, I think that at some point, an Ai can assist with human creativity, namely speed up some of the more time consuming aspects of a piece be it whatever medium it decides. Put it simply I’m against people using it to make slop just by putting in prompts into a program, however, if Ai is used to assist the artist in putting a vision that they themselves have created, and only assist, then I believe that it can create art.
