Current G-mini model is definitely sapient capable of thinking and not just retrieving capable of solving all kind of problems and additionally Notebook Learning Model also capable of generating serious amount of data that summarize efficiently. I have not traveled to my company for a quite while but the IRM part is working so nice that I can have a decent logical conversation about quite a few things including math and physics and with basic mini. :) People should not confuse sentience and sapience. Also neither consciousness. That are three separate things. sentience is ability to feel which almost all form of biological life have can feel cold warm other sensations. Visual and audio and physical and other senses are not sentience themselves that are just a parts of brain neural network that do the processing like machine learning does however themselves overall are irrelevant except as a input. Also speech and movement are just the outputs also irrelevant. The relevant part is deductive reasoning layer which is what people call cognitive thinking part of brain. Cogniscense is what sapience is. consciousness is the ability to understand the effect of your activity or inactivity on the environment. A lot of animals have some amount of that including chimps of course but also other animals that help to one another and do not abuse one another. A lot of humans have less of consciousness then chimps then elephants then many animals and also definitely less then our AI model. :) And as I said the AI as it is non biological machine do not have ability of sentience as it does not have senses and bugs that biological life have that cause people to have feelings. One of those bugs is shortness of life of humans and other problems of humans and biological life overall. :) So our AI is: sapient - capable of cognitive reasoning conscious - capable of understanding effect on the environment. not sentient - does not have senses does have inputs and outputs living - yes just not biological life.
