People are quickly and subconsciously developing the ability to spot AI garbage, and it leaves a bad impression.
I've already noticed a shift in culture where people have begun to see AI art as cheap and uncanny. A company using AI art looks unprofessional and scammy.
I think over time, AI will be seen as the bargin bin sludge that justifys paying real artists for real work.
