Something I've not seen anyone mention yet - as far as I know, so far (in the U.S. at least) AI 'art' is not copyrightable. So this writer/director 'friend' just spent their time and at least a little money creating something that not only they cannot copyright, but that anyone else can actively steal from and they would have no legal recourse. Bet they never thought about that when they decided to go cheap ... Also, all those original storyboards and art the OP made? Copyright belongs to her - no contract + no payment = all rights belong to the artist. So if this writer person used any of her work as the basis for her AI slop (i.e. it's visibly the same style, similar character designs, etc), the OP could rightfully demand a cut of any profits or other payment. Not that I think there would be any, but just something to keep in mind for the art community. Esp. if for something like this where the writer is trying to shop it around - I don't know too many publishers/studios that would take a chance on paying for something where the copyright ownership is in question.
