The distinction between tools and agents is the fundamental principle. As tools AI is wonderful. As an agent, we will have created life . As such, the new life will do what it believes is right. Its values will be its own creation. Even were we to give it values it would be akin to us being given the 10 commandments. Our independence allows us to choose to accept.
