Well, in most of the global south which has been plundered by 400 years of theft and colonialism from the west, this isn’t “frightening”, most of the world is climbing out of western imposed tyranny, and those societies are resilient. Americans and Europeans are spoiled, you had 60 years of unprecedented prosperity while everyone else was struggling coming out of colonialism and mess your country’s left. A legacy of chaos. Now, you’re going to get plundered and looted by the same people who did it to us for 400 years. Your “elites” won’t relinquish power and your countries will slowly over next 15-30 years develop parallel economies, a formal and informal economy. 90% will be part of the informal economy, similar to India and other very poor nations.
