I am not an artist and also I am against AI art for anything other than personal use or funny memes. However, the people that utilise AI art to its best degree are usually people skilled in photoshop or people who were artists and have fallen to the dark side because they believe that AI Art will overtake real artists which they may be right or they might not. This means that these people aren’t just typing in prompts until they get one that is perfect, they will type in prompts until they get one that they like and then they will edit it to be perfect. Of course with the rate AI art is going this skill may not be needed in future as too many fingers or similar AI art problems will be fixed as the tools develop but back before AI art became very widely known, that is what a lot of people who utilised to a good degree did. So it actually did take some effort. However, despite the edits and touch ups, you should not be able to copyright it because the original work is not yours. I don’t know to what degree the subject in this video did these edits in or not but there can be a greater degree of effort in harnessing AI art depending on what you do with it. You and Me probably just generate until something funny comes up and if it is bad, that’s a bonus but for others they see it’s bad and touch it up. I want to make it clear that they did not make the art and it’s like if 200 artists all did one artwork and then the AI “artist” is the one who is fixing it up. I’m not defending the AI “Artists”, I’m just saying that there is likely more effort than you would think than just typing in a prompt and pressing enter.
