I will take a smart, eager junior developer over AI, a cheap unmotivated mid-level resources, or "I only do it this way" senior all day long.
The problem in IT is not getting "coders", it is defining the problem and selecting the correct tech for that.
Shops that know how to perform will be fine without or with AI. Shops that do not know how to perform will think AI is their savior (it will not be).
I cannot wait for the day when it is realized that a great Architect and Business Analyst/Owner to lead the project is all you need. Get that, everything else will work out.
AI, in my opinion, is currently an automated way to say "search for examples, and make that my code". We all know developers that do that now, and AI will 100% replace those people.
