All AIs are trained on the past. They can't add completely novel knowledge. They can't anticipate the future. Whereas our biological brains have virtually unlimited capacity to create knowledge with no apparent increase in processing power, adding capacity to AIs requires constant and increasingly expensive new hardware and energy provided by us. Whereas we naturally, although slowly produce new brains, no machine has ever replicated itself. When we curtail the extravagant consumption of energy building and training AIs and very selectively apply them to roles where they actually add value, AI will leave us more time to create and dream how to make our lives better.
