They are idiots for their assumption of what AI is and not understanding the problem beforehand. AI is an algorithm which would require heaps of data to get anywhere close to accurate. They can't or plan how a human can, nor obtain knowledge how we can. Though obviously accountability is another issue, even without that it isn't designed to replace humans - even I, working privately on small scale projects, can see that.
