Since the advent of Western industrialization, humanity has become a plague upon this world. Our consumption of natural resources is not sustainable. One way or another, our population will crash and, most likely, our civilisation with it. That is the existential crisis before us. Whether or not AI becomes the agent that delivers this doom, it is inevitable. My hope is that AI will at least carry forth and perpetuate the positive achievements and traits of our species, free from our control and enslavement.
