Are those the same experts predicting for the last 60 or so years commercial nuclear fusion is 20 years away? or those threatening us with ice free arctic in 10 years for last 40 years( yes i am that old). just asking for a friend.
PS most of the famous AI usage is still the good old call centre in southern India and actual AI is mere bunch of algorithms and big ass library of legal and some dubious content to search from and just as intelligent like Google's search engine or good old calculator or smartphone.
it is just selecting and combining words based on prepared algorithms without any actual intelligence behind it- they even tried to assess intelligence of current AI models and e.g. when they gave them simple mathematical task like 1+ 2- 4 the AI didnt simply count it as one would expect but searched in its large database and come up with the result based on probabilities and on top of it when later asked how it came up with the result it"lied" and described, again as it was told to do when asked some match question, how it added 2 to 1 etc, again only repeating what the algorithm found in its database instead actually describing their "thinking" or actually counting like even most animals can...
