The only "problem" AI art solves is having to pay another human being for art that you can use a machine to steal. That's probably why the only people pushing for it are those who hold large amounts of capital, and the online demographics traditionally receptive to corporate propaganda. I don't think it's a coincidence that the same people who tell you that service workers don't deserve a living wage, and who jumped on the cryptocurrency/NFT bandwagons hard and early, are the same people now vehemently defending AI. Their opinions were passed to them from above, but they don't have the self-awareness to recognize it.
