The video does not primarily describe AI, but rather humans' fear of control. We build systems that we do not fully understand and cannot explain intuitively.
This triggers our fear of the unknown we sense a loss of control and this triggers our mythical thinking. Therefore "The Shoggoth" is an honest metaphor for epistemic powerlessness, not for a real being in the system.
