algorithms are as good as the input parameters they use. If there is a clear correlation between input parameters and outputs, an algorithm should be used for efficiency and reducing human subjectivity. True, there may be emperical tasks in the justice system where they may be applied. But not here. The reson why they have perhaps done this is because they have been criticised for human subjectivity in this task. Companies which get contracts are the ones which give "favours" to bureacrats. So, the company shall remain as long as they do not get too much media attention.
