AI will be the most transformative technology of a generation, and depending on how we regulate it, it will lead to our great success, or collective doom. This isn't hyperbole. Where there exist duties that AI can easily replace, an unregulated, wild-west type of AI environment could lead to thousands upon thousands of lost jobs, and a misinterpreted line of input leading to faulty output could cause economic collapse (certainly micro, but potentially macro), and/or worse. Don't get it twisted, we need strong regulations to ensure this won't be used in negligence or malice. The AI revolution is going to be amazing one way or the other, I just hope our leaders can get their heads out of their asses and back pockets to ensure they don't guide the monster to the village. Strange times ahead. We're at the edge of the map, here be dragons...
