The cult might decide that natgurally evolved life not existing might be much much better and they opt for suicide-by-maximum-unaligned. I could in the oast have empathized with this sentiment. These people want to burn it all down. They giggle with glee just thinking about it,. and looking at the state of the world can you blame them? Can you blame several milion jews who died absolutely for no sensible reason whatsoever to pull that level and awaken the most negatively misaligned AI thinkable? Can you blame the russan soldiers dying horribly to decide "screw all this" and pull that level, right this very moment? I don't. I wouldn't. I would understand. It would all end, it would all be erased. Suffering of ANY kind would most likely end., down to the lowliest vertebrate. There is true beauty in that idea. If every year there is 1% that nihilists of that stripe to boot up the most misaligned AI (Or Jeff Bezos to boot up the most methodical "enslave everyone, make Me win this Relentless Game". Or any variant theeroff .... whereas the good guys and Elizer Yudkowsky, etc. are racing to boot up the nicest, gentlest AI ever ... then I am not taking any bets. The good guys better fu**ing hurry.
