I'm a disabled writer (BAD dyslexia as well as autism and some general physical pain issues) and I had to work INCREDIBLY HARD to learn to do even basic writing, I still write VERY slowly, but despite that I've worked my butt off to make my living as a fiction writer and I have never and will never use AI for writing or art or anything else like that! I'd rather break my fingers then give up my hard work and the skills I've poured thousands of hours into honing so that some bot can spit out something like what I had in my head at the expense of other creatives! To hell with gen AI and to hell with anyone who tries to argue that its 'good actually' because it 'allows disabled people the chance to make art too!' We are making art just fine, thank you very much! As an artist friend of mine, who also suffers from chronic pain, said not long ago, "The only reason for using generative AI is because your being lazy and laziness isn't a disability."
