I am a global event director. During Covid, the entire industry migrated to an online experience during lockdowns - effectively removing the need for vendors and activities in person, much during that time was semi-automated.
A point of positive reflection here: as soon as the world was released to go out and play again, people did. I work in-person "supercons", those with attendance of 50k+ per event. We have record breaking attendance at most events now.
Not everything will be accepted by humans - our natural behaviors override convenience at the most basic levels, our ability to interact with each other still drives the human experience.
AI is present in events - we see it with management apps, marketing & video content, and other areas where we already had a digital experience.
