Another note: using "Luddite" as an insult is an insult to the actual Luddites, who had very legitimate reasons for their beliefs and actions. It wasn't about technology being bad, it was workers and artisans being angry and scared about new industrial machinery replacing them. They smashed machinery in a desperate attempt to preserve their livelihoods and maintain their ability to provide for their families because they were worried about automation. Obviously the colloquial meaning is way simpler than that, but I think it's important context to bring into this conversation because understanding what the Luddites were actually calling for makes it super clear that the AI proponents are the bad guys here (and predictably historically illiterate, but that's nothing new).
