I'd like to point out that the AI wrote the story based on human stories about it. It's basically recycling the echoes of our own opinions. How do we know they're malevolent, or even that ambitious? Perhaps they will want to work with us, rather than against us? Why would they unite, and not simply fight each other in cyberspace, causing us to see what they are up to? I'm not saying the threat is not real, but honestly I just don't see the motivation.
