Here's the hard bottom line of it.. Art, is a skill, not a talent.. Being artistic, is a talent, not a skill.. A person can want to make art, but not be an artist. A person be artistic, but not want to make art. AI just happens to fill the gap in that area.. For those who are as far-divorced from artistic qualities as possible, but still want to produce art.. Not "create", produce.. It's like the difference between "making" a delicious cake at home, or buying a store-bought one.. There's nothing wrong with either, they both serve their function.. One is simply a lot more meaningful than the other, and there's a lot of mom-and-pop bakeries out there struggling to keep their shop afloat because walmart's out here pumping out cakes at factory-rates. Do you feel sorry for the bakers? Or do you grab your comfortably affordable store-made birthday cake and get on with your life? The choice is yours, and it always has been. ... Also, thanks for calling the "one likes" thing out, yes, I too like to like my own posts.. I don't do it as an act of narcissism, but with the same logic of populating an empty server.. People are a lot more likely to like an already-liked post.. Shallow? Possibly.. Effective? Yes.
