I believe the huge advantage that the Americans have is their immense lead in hardware that accelerates AI. Nvidia just announced a replacement for their already world-leading AI hardware - H100 and H200. Deal for these new accelerators are already flying towards America's world-leading companies like Microsoft and Google. Such powerful companies are magnets for top talent around the world which is unmatched by any competitor. We in Europe cannot compete as we simply don't have these companies. We together with the Chinese have the money we simply don't have places to spends as extensively. The Chinese are better than us. They have more companies where to spend their money but they too are in net negative territory compared to the US. Top engineers from the EU and China among other regions are running towards the US in search for better opportunities. The Americans spend more and offer higher benefits.
