I've said the same, the only shortage is of willingness to pay better and have better working conditions for drivers. All these AI techno gurus went on a shopping spree for politicians to make rules and change laws in their favor. That's why no politician will do anything in your favor.
They went on a misinformation campaign calling "shortage", reaching to every major propaganda outlet (so called news media) to justify the intention to kill millions of jobs from ordinary people.
When everyone is unemployed hungry and thirsty the only thing left is to revolt.
