Geoffery Hinton definite changed my views of what we consider as consciousness and alike but I don't think AI will replace us in a sense that we will eventually not offer value. The point in being a species aka human is that we are biologically wired to strive the success of us and that means valuing our contribution on a fundamental level. While an AI might make art or a political decision that is in every way and node better for us, if nobody or we collectively don't feel connected to it then it's fundamentally useless. Either I'm sticking my own ass or this has been severely underestimated.
