There is a view that Consciousness is all-pervasive like Space, but fundamental. In that view, Consciousness is reflected in the Mind, making it appear Conscious. If AI has the equivalent of a Mind, then Consciousness being reflected there would make the AI appear Conscious, as it does in living beings.
