I hear about AI carbon footprint a lot, but it’s unclear to me why this will remain a huge problem as we decarbonize the grid. Should be a lot easier to do this than say get homes to replace millions of gas stoves and heaters. Especially when renewable electricity is far cheaper - technology companies will want to do this for profit motive alone leave aside any altruistic intentions.
