A quarter of the world's population lives on less than $5 per day. Billionaires talking about how AI is going to eliminate the need to work, money will be plentiful, and humans will be able to spend their days pursuing their personal hobbies and passions, are incredibly narrow-minded and callous. How about if the billionaires stop keeping people in poverty to begin with? How about if the billionaires fix poverty now instead of saying AI is going to do it. Billionaires are the ones keeping most of humanity uneducated, hungry, sick and hopeless. Greed is greed is greed. Shame on all billionaires who aren't actively trying to alleviate human suffering RIGHT NOW. The Walton family that owns Wal Mart makes more money every three minutes than the average Wal Mart worker makes in a year. The Waltons could double, triple, quadruple their workers' salaries, but they choose to keep them on the verge of desperation. That is just one example of the global greed that infects humanity. Look at the obscene wealth in the Middle East and the laborer immigrants who are kept in poverty there. U.S. health insurance companies have never been more profitable, and 100 million Americans carry crushing medical debt. Israel has the the ninth highest number of billionaires per capita, and their government just conducted a genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza, leaving dozens of thousands of maimed, starving and orphaned children. The list goes on and on. Europe has obscene wealth and billionaires per capita, much of which has been gained through colonial and neo-colonial pursuits. Yet they complain when people from the countries they exploit seek refuge and asylum in European countries. India has the third highest number of billionaires in the world, yet a quarter of India's population lives on less than $3 per day. The unequal distribution of income on planet Earth is obscene and atrocious. Maybe AI will turn on the billionaires and rectify that status quo. Wouldn't that be nice.
