this is all based on a pretense that if we get extremely intelligent AI it can't just figure out how to make us... not be hedonistic/be upset when hedonistic or something lol
i think AI will bring us things a lot more interesting than eating poison or wasting time watching TV
after all, most of the "bad" entertainment just boils down into escapism/addiction. what if the world was something nobody wanted to escape from because they could do whatever their heart desired? what if people couldn't be addicted?
