China is a communist country. This gives them a significant head start as they will create an artificial intelligence that is extremely biased and discriminatory. The advantage is that this gives them a significant head start, allowing them to implement society-wide AI technology more quickly. The concerning part is if they achieve it successfully. In that case, the USA would immediately lose the most important races in modern history. The USA is extremely hopeful they fail, as a biased and discriminatory totalitarian dictatorship-like AI has a huge risk of failing. The USA is a democratic free market, which means they have to be more open-minded (that's why LGBTQ movements and inclusive matters have happened). The USA has to approach AI in an inclusive manner, which takes much longer but has a more impactful long-term benefit. The AI race is essentially a gamble. The USA is just hoping that China's AI goes awry, and once they gain the lead, it will be impossible to catch up.
