"An artist has no right to speak to gods" imagine saying that unironically. Imagine thinking you're a god because you're stealing people's art. This guy needs to get slapped by reality rn Seriously though very thorough video. I've heard about AI art before those algorithms really got popular, and I was never concerned because to make art you need emotions, and current AI is very far from simulating that. But what I failed to consider is the fact that companies don't care about emotions, or artistic value. They care about profit. And that's what it is all about in the end. Those tech bros keep saying, "AI lets everyone paint! It stops the gatekeeping of fine arts!" but they were never interested in art before. All they're interested in is making profit. If they cared about artistic value, or the gatekeeping of fine arts, they wouldn't make those damn algorithms. Because whatever comes out of them means nothing. It's a collection of mismatched puzzle pieces. The final picture will mean nothing. And some of them say, "this was bound to happen sooner or later". Maybe. But in a better world, AI would've been used for actual helpful things, like translation, development of cures, decoding genes, predicting natural disasters. Things that would save lives. But it's being used for art theft. And military programs. And advertising. You're not progressing humanity anywhere. You're just a part of the things tieing us down. (sorry this is kinda long, I had a lot to say ig lol)
