I'm not an artist, but I am a programmer/software engineer, and I hate AI art and am so baffled as to why there are so many people putting all this energy and money into this.
Personally, I see potential in AI as a tool to help (NOT replace) people with tasks that are vital but unpleasant, and "AI art" represents the one of the worst directions this technology is going towards.
