Doomed? Hardly. AI is only good at generalized application, an impression. When you start getting into the "why" and "how" things work, it breaks down considerably. Especially when it comes to detail, it just doesn't have the accuracy to lock down consistent features at all. I do think this is superb for getting some iterations out, like if you wanted to thematically set up some ideas. However, as far as a full feature film goes, it's just going to be more lucrative to make your own assets and do the movie with full control.
