"artificial intelligence" as has been fear mongered by sci fi entertainment and alarmists for a long time is never going to happen the way we think. AI is an amalgamation of things and is unable to create anything actually new. It can innovate but not invent. The only answer you can receive from AI is something it has been programmed to do. It can't produce an idea that was not prior programmed within it. That is why they feed AI everything they can, so it can appear sentient. But it can't be. Now, if a superior intellect alien group were to be here and make an AI, then it could obviously do more than the AI we make and could possibly be the AI we would need to fear.
