Because LLMs are not intelligent agents they will not be able to understand & to solve new problems. They cannot do induction / abstract reasoning.
What LLMs can do are gathering & presenting (hopefully) accurately the researches, problems that already have solutions, etc, that are already part of their data set in respond to your questions & “prompts” …
They can be used to develop & build up your arguments …
