In the 1980’s the buzzword that was going to replace all of us was Robotics by the late 80’s it was MACHINE VISION and Machine Learning, then it was E-Commerce, the Human Genome Project, Fiber Optics, then Nano-Technology, then Green Technology (Solendra anyone?) Yes each of these had an impact. Each of these hype events saw a large number of “High Tech” companies getting billions for easily led investors, and each of these saw the failure of many of the same companies. The only people making money are the ones promoting the hype and few lucky people who get out when the getting is good. Another thing that drives this are CEO’s who appear to be more interested in their next bonus check than the long term health and even existence of their companies. The people who fell for this drivel need to be escorted to the door after taking away their badges and network access - just like they did to so many others. They failed.
