I want to frame this with a different lens. Not from fear or negativity, but from the opportunity in front of us. If labor really dissolves at scale, as many predict, do we face collapse...or does the shift in need and reward change the equation, opening new ways for humanity to live and share purpose? History reminds us that when systems stay fixed while the world changes, tension follows. So maybe the real question isn’t about the machines/AI at all, but whether we’re asking the right questions about where we’re headed, why it matters, and whether we recognize that the structure of the game itself may need to change. Is this really the end or could it be a new opportunity for human evolution? AI doesn’t need an iPhone, a double-bacon cheeseburger, a vanilla latte, or Friday night entertainment. We do. Which means the real story isn’t what machines replace, but what they leave us free to become.
