Not surprising. CEOs went all in on AI. Best case scenario is it works and they make a significant amount of money and capture market share. Worse case scenario is they just hire people to do the jobs the AI ended up not being able to do. From the CEO's perspective, they really had nothing to lose. Obviously, it sucks for the people who got fired, but that's how it is when you're just a cog in the wheel.
