The technocrats have gone to these burning Man festivals and they take copious amounts of mind altering drugs that put them in contact with interdimensional beings. They have all said this. Then they get information on how to build quantum computers and AI. The quantum computers literally open up dimensional gateways to those entities and then are literally ghosts in the machine.
