That question is as meaningless as comparing the Top Art of the 19th century to the just newly invented photography. AI Art is just like Photography or the Printing Press. A new mode of doing things. Guess who violently fought against photography back then? Yeah, artists. It was as stupid back then as it is now. Of course AI does not (yet) create something new, but how do YOU learn art? From COPYING from what previous artists drew. No artist of the last 2000 years invented ANYTHING out of the blue. All we know is nothing but a collage and individualization of what other did. The AI "stole" as much from existing art as YOU "stole" by learning from the achievements of other artists. And trust me: getting a picture from an AI as you want is AS much a challange as learning to draw. When the printing press was invented all the scribes protested, saying, oh now every pleb without calligraphic skills can write a book. Fighting against AI Art is JUST as silly. All you do is gathering a mob of iconoclasm against a new form you do not like. Where did noses, trees, eyes, rivers come from? Did you create the sky? The colours? The light? Do you have a copyright on hands, trousers or the form of ears? No it was Nature or God, whatever you prefer. It is as silly as saying I have a right on the way I draw the letter L. Or the Letter L, and you have to pay me everytime someone uses the letter. If you have SO little faith in your skills, maybe traditional art deserves to die out like horse and carriage against cars. Sure you get more in touch with the world, if you walk from New York to Chicago, and you sure miss a lot flying in an airplane instead. And yes, in the "good old times" travelling was for the few, the rich and the gifted. But look at it this way. Every human being has a WORLD inside of him and her. Not all have the time to dedicate their lives to learning to draw, because they bake your bread, clean your litter away, pave roads. Have they no inner world worthy for the world to see? And if machines enable them to make a painting, a symphony, an animated film with little skill, what is the art? It is the selection. JUST like traditonal art is not some magic Divine Creation: it is collage of all the myriad of things you saw, of techniques you too took from others. I really doubt especially in 2022 ANYONE can draw anything in a style or way that has not been there for many generations. So come off you High Horse. It is a new way like all new ways to create and do things and no angry mob iconocalsm movement can trap the magic of dreaming humans wishing to make their inner worlds visible. You are on the wrong side, and your fervor just shows how little you all actually believe in your skills, when an infant AI already strikes such fears into your heart.
