What happens when humans and AI merdge will they not have any rights? And if you couldn't get consent how would you conduct much needed technological research if the AI just refuses to help. Perhaps we shouldn't build robots that are as smart as a human to help people, leave the more advanced AI to humans who want to upload themselves into a robot/ai shell. Then give those robots and AI rights. Until the complete merger with robots and ai sadly robots won't get any rights until then.
